Beta Research Custom Search Tool

About
This Google Custom Search Research Tool
As we have continued our research for The People History we have found difficulty in finding the resources we used to be able to find using standard search engines, we set out to use the powerful technology of Google to help us create a Custom Search Engine using a few hundred web sites to start, Below are some of the resources we thought would be good to start with
  1. Public Radio and TV from US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
  2. National Archives from countries we could find
  3. Top Universities from the US and other English speaking countries

Why No Wikipedia
All the major search engines feature Wikipedia at the top of the results and often give a summary of the information, plus during our testing Wikipedia results drowned out many of the other useful resources, this combined with the fact Princeton University whose results are included have built some clever technology that has created a powerful index of Wikipedia pages.
